Jinger Duggar Vuolo has experienced a sense of liberty after growing up with religious teachings that she has described as resembling a cult.

The 29-year-old ex-reality celebrity claims that she resonates with Britney Spears – since the pop singer’s struggle to conclude her contentious conservatorship was akin to her own endeavour to free herself from her family’s “cult-like” faith.

In her comments, she said: “It’s interesting. I see people who are in the public eye and have stories and I can relate to them at different points, maybe on smaller scales. And I think that’s the beauty of it. You see that so many people have walked through so much pain and hardship.”

Much in the same way, in 2019, fans of Spears noticed her being held-back, and they began to actively promote the idea of her being freed. Her father, Jamie Spears, had created a conservatorship in 2008 to manage her private, medical, and fiscal affairs.

Not only that, but she was allegedly deprived of simple pleasures such as coffee and driving by herself. But after having managed to overturn it, she made changes in her life including her marriage to Sam Asghari, with reports that they want to start a family. And that sense of being controlled is something that Jinger knows all too well.

Her following comments confirmed as much: “I would definitely say that [his philosophy] was cult-like in nature…The

teachings are based on rules – man-made rules.” The fans on social media were delighted to see Jinger speaking her truth.

And in the process of doing so, they felt that this would encourage others going through a similar thing to take action. One person wrote: “Good for you, young lady! Your voice deserves be heard. Linking this to Britney might be an odd bank-shot to attract some PR attention, but I want to respect your voice.”
