The Daily Show With Trevor Noah has been through some changes in the past couple of years, becoming the Daily Social Distancing Show when Noah was forced to film from his New York apartment amidst the pandemic.
Another change that occurred during 2020 was the host himself. Noah underwent an undisclosed surgery in November 2020, but according to the law suit he has filed, it all went horribly wrong.

The defendants in question are the Hospital for Special Surgery and Dr. Riley J. Williams whose specialty is knee, shoulder and elbow surgery. The complaint filed by Noah cites negligence after having “sustained severe nervous shock, mental anguish, severe emotional distress and great physical pain” amid his recovery from the surgery.
The court documents further allege that the defendants were “careless in failing to treat and care for [Noah] in a careful and skillful manner” and that the botched surgery left him “rendered sick, sore, lame and disabled” while he has “suffered a loss of enjoyment for life.”
The documents continue to claim the 37 year old South African comedian suffered from inadequate aftercare, also. Along with the defendants failing to “discontinue certain prescription medications” which were said to be prescribed improperly, Noah claims to have been “confined to bed and home for a long period of time” which “prevented [him] from engaging in his usual occupation.”
The hospital has responded, denying any wrongdoing, even though Noah has claimed some of his injuries are “of a permanent nature” and he will “continue to suffer similar damages in the future.”
According to the Hospital for Special Surgery’s website it is the world’s leading academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health. Lawyers working for the hospital claim it is consistently ranked #1 in orthopedics: globally and nationally.
These layers have dismissed Noah’s suit as “meritless.”
