So, based on soap-time, Bill met Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) years before he debuted as a character. Devoted fans recall that Diamont joined the cast in 2009 as the son of the infamous Bill Spencer, Senior (Jim Storm). That character debuted during B&B’s inaugural season (1987) and remained prominent for years.
Bill’s dad died, and Bill Junior took over his father’s publishing empire. Diamont’s family eventually grew to include three sons.
So, the implication that Luna is Bill’s daughter through Poppy is intriguing on multiple levels. It would open an unknown section of Bill’s backstory, and his potential link to Poppy would not only open an unknown section of Bill’s backstory but also ignite a conflict with Li.

An unusual event happened in the recent past and then was dropped. It felt odd that the writing staff did not explore a romantic relationship between Bill and Li after he found her in an amnesiac state.
Most recently, Li became enraged when learning that Luna was in Los Angeles, California. Yamada’s newly debuted character informed RJ and the audience about the bad family blood between her mother and aunt.
Li had it out with Poppy, invoking the incident where she had an affair with a married man. That caused problems for Li because it happened at the hospital where she got Poppy a job.

It is not the passage of time that should be focused on but what Poppy suspected more than two decades ago. Did she and Bill have a romantic encounter that would have meant he fathered her daughter?
Fans are being presented with dialogue that focuses on Poppy raising Luna alone and no information being available about paternity. So, Poppy could have kept a secret or never sought to confirm who Luna’s father was on B&B.
