‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that a soapy moment pushed the plot ahead. Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) wanted his father to signal whether he could survive without the ventilator, and he did.
Following what has become a pattern, Eric Forrester (John McCook) responded by moving his eyelids. The implication is that the Forrester family patriarch believes he can breathe on his own.
Most importantly, the crossroads Eric reached means he can not rely on machinery. Ridge knows his father would want to rely on something other than artificial means to survive.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – More Drama Ahead At University Hospital
The blandly named University Hospital is not matched by the drama unfolding in Eric’s room. Viewers have also seen a series of passionate conversations take place in the hallway outside of his room as well.
John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) were concerned. They concluded that it was time to take Eric off the ventilator because not doing so would create other health complications.
Summoning Ridge, who is Eric’s legal authority, was necessary. He and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) bee-lined to the hospital to be at Eric’s bedside.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – John Finnegan’s Plan Extended Life
In all likelihood, Eric would have died if Ridge had not approved of Finn’s plan. The experimental cell transplant procedure he and Bridget completed allowed Eric’s life to be extended. Without that surgery, he probably would have died.
Ridge should take comfort when he has time to collect his thoughts. He only agreed to greenlight Finn’s efforts after Eric moved his eyes. So, seeing his father do that again should let Ridge know that Eric is likely communicating his wishes in the only way he can.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Eric Forrester Is Larger Than Life
It has been an unusual lead-in to Christmas on this soap. Seeing Eric’s hospital room window decorated with garland and some ornaments was the only sign that the annual major holiday was imminent.
But the Forrester family had to put ordinary preparations on hold. Their lives will remain suspended until Eric hopefully stabilizes.
McCook’s character is near death because he refused treatment. Now that he has received it, Eric’s life can continue. Here’s hoping that what has become one of the more compelling storylines in recent years has a satisfying ending, regardless of the outcome planned on B&B.
