‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers indicates that the Forrester family is in turmoil. Eric Forrester (John McCook) is on his dead bed in the hospital. There is nothing more doctors can do for him, and machines are keeping him alive. Ridge has decided on a course of action but will his family pressure him to change it?
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Perilous Suggestion
Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) has the medical power of attorney for his father. B&B’s Eric is not able to be treated and has known for a while now that the end is coming. He told Ridge that he wanted to go with dignity and did not want any drastic measures taken for him.
But now that Eric has collapsed and is facing his final moments, Dr. Jonathan ‘Finn’ Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) has come to the family with a suggestion. He has investigated an option that could possibly help Eric. It involves a heart transplant and the cleansing of Eric’s blood. It is not even certain to work, but it is a possible option.
This could help the Forrester patriarch, or it could totally fail and cause his body a lot of distress and pain. There are no guarantees, but Finn thinks it could possibly give Eric a bit more time.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Spoilers: Denial
Ridge says that he wants his father to pass away in peace. Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) and B&B’s Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) aren’t ready to let Eric go. Donna says that Ridge is playing God because he is deciding to let Eric go. Ridge says Donna is doing the same thing by demanding a treatment that may cause more harm than good.
Steffy argues that they should do something. They should be willing to try anything to help Eric survive. Steffy and Donna are just pushing for this because they want more time with Eric. They are unwilling to put their own desires aside and do what is best for Eric. Ridge is the only one who is not being selfish in this situation.
While Ridge doesn’t want to lose his father, he wants what is best for his father. Hopefully the family will not pressure him to change his mind. Death is something everyone must face and it isn’t right to make a choice that will probably bring more pain (when death must be the end result at some time). Are Donna and Steffy going to get Ridge to go along with them or will they finally be able to say “goodbye”? What do you think?
