‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that some diagnoses offer little or no hope. But the one Eric Forrester (John McCook) received made Dr. John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) think.
Finn has been secretly working on a solution to Eric’s perceived terminal diagnosis. While it is true that Eric likely will not survive in his current state, Novlan’s character believes a remedy is possible.
Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) does not want to lose his father. But as the person he appointed to handle medical decisions in a time like this, Kaye’s character wants to abide by Eric’s wishes.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Transfusion And Transplant Introduced
For months, viewers were only told that Eric was dying. He was given a six-month time frame, which implied a sad death by spring at the latest.
Eric was not embracing death. Instead, he wanted to live out whatever number of decreasing days he had left. Throwing himself into the fashion challenge was an obvious method of distraction.
It worked, but then it was over. Soon after that, Eric collapsed twice within approximately a week. His rush to the hospital enabled the audience to learn that he needed a blood transfusion and a transplant.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – John Finnegan’s Openness Counts
To be clear, Finn said he is not offering a guaranteed cure. He wanted Eric’s loved ones to know the situation was still dire. Even if the treatment plan Finn developed works, it will represent a significant risk.
Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) became the first to know about Finn’s efforts. He revealed them when meeting her in the hospital hallway outside Eric’s room.
Ridge heard Finn’s pitch and decided to reject the idea initially. However, Steffy, Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) were shocked when Ridge said no.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – What Would Eric Forrester Decide?
The reason why Ridge dismissed Finn’s potential solution is based on Eric’s recent demeanor. He did not want Dr. Colin Colby (Justiin Davis) around much and repeatedly refused to go to the hospital when urged to do so in recent weeks.
Understandably, Ridge believes Eric would reject what seems like a stretch. The cutting-edge treatment plan Finn suggested differs from the direction Eric wanted.
However, the Forrester patriarch is a fighter. So, why not experiment when faced with the Grim Reaper’s call? It could work, and if it does not, at least all reasonable measures would have been taken on B&B.
