Devoted fans recall that Emma learned Thomas kept Beth Spencer’s (Jordyn Lynn Ariza) existence a secret. Atkinson’s character did not want Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle), her name at the time, to know the truth.
Hope and Liam believed Beth died at birth. Thomas later learned that information and pressured various individuals to remain silent. Viewers likely felt that the plot was a bit sketchy. The purpose led to another situation where Thomas willfully involved himself in illegal behavior.

The audience will also see if Ridge can continue to protect Thomas. The new threat Xander represents reopens one of the dangerous aspects of Thomas’ sordid past on B&B.
