‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that what was teased as a final goodbye did not happen. Eric Forrester (John McCook) does not want to head to heaven.

Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) was the first to see him move his eyes. That happened one second before the machines were about to be shut off. Then Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) command came.

With loved ones gathered, John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) looked to Ridge for direction. Kaye’s character nodded, which signaled it was okay to turn off the machines. They were keeping the celebrated co-founder of Forrester Creations and the patriarch of the Forrester family alive.

Ridge was forced to interpret what his father would do in this life-or-death scenario. He made an unpopular decision. Kaye’s character did not approve Finn’s experimental treatment plan at first and wanted to let Eric go.

Feeling justified is subjective. And so it was for Ridge, who was firm in his belief and was prepared to say farewell to his dad.

He understood the feelings Donna and the others had. But knowing Eric as he has since boyhood, Ridge felt it best to order the machinery turned off.

Yet, Eric would not want to live in a suspended state indefinitely or become an experiment to satisfy the misguided hopes of others. His eye movement could be involuntary or represent a conscious desire to remain with his family and friends.

‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – John Finnegan Creates Option

Rushing Eric to the hospital after his collapse was necessary to try and save his life. But Finn was preparing for the inevitable when working on a hopeful solution.

Unbeknownst to his wife, Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), or her family, Finn has been researching remedies for Eric’s terminal condition. Subsequently, the proposal he creates involves what he described as a cutting-edge therapy.

However, viewers have yet to be told what Eric’s terminal illness is, so Finn’s plan and the character’s questions about it offered new insight.

Whether Eric survives this crisis is yet to be seen. Buzz across the soap world is humming about this storyline and McCook’s performance.

So, TPTB have achieved success to date. Most importantly, a fitting conclusion, whatever that may be, can make this story even more satisfying, depending upon what happens on B&B.
