‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) was hoping that his daughter would be open-minded. But Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) has no tolerance for Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), who she sees as a deal-breaker.
Deacon did not anticipate Hope would bar him from seeing his granddaughter. But she did and then went one step further. Noelle’s character asserted that she would not be in contact with Deacon as long as he was with Sheila.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Trusting Thomas Forrester, But Not Her Father?
Hope said that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is a saint when compared to Sheila. Kudos to Kanan for presenting a restrained Deacon during those scenes. He tightened his face and shifted his eyes numerous times while Hope let her father have it.
But Hope appeared not to realize that Sheila has done nothing to Deacon that he did not agree to. In contrast, Thomas knew Beth Spencer (Jordyn Lynn Ariza) was alive and withheld that crucial fact from Hope.
Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) agrees with Deacon’s assessment of Thomas, but Hope has convinced herself Atkinson’s character has changed and is worthy of her trust. While Sheila is a notorious criminal, whose crimes are lengthy and breathtaking, Thomas is not destined to waltz through the Pearly Gates simply because he has restrained himself for a handful of months.

Putting Deacon in a bad position is not Hope’s intention. She does not believe it is unfair to force her father to choose Sheila or her, even though that is what happened.
In Hope’s mind, Deacon is in danger. So, she does not trust his judgment as long as he is involved with her. Mostly, Hope is reacting based on fear that something terrible will happen or Deacon will be wronged in a harsh manner.
On his end, Deacon can not accept Hope’s demand. He fell in love with Sheila and considers her to be different than anyone he has ever met. Like Hope’s belief in Thomas, Deacon believes Sheila is on a path to redemption and will make it with his help.

Deacon told various people, including John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), that he can keep Sheila in check. But Finn, like others, including Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), have a deeper level of experience with Sheila than Deacon.
While it is true that Sheila is soothed by being with Deacon and may be in love with him, her backstory can not be ignored. Everyone expects Sheila to wrong Deacon at some point or at least to endanger his freedom by involving him in unlawful activity.
But Deacon sees a Sheila that others do not and can not. She sees him as the one person in the world who believes in her. In return, Sheila has been loyal. Whether or how long she will retain that positive view of Deacon or revert to her reckless ways will be seen on B&B.
