‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers find that star Rachel Lindsay says that when it comes to finding love on reality television, her head is just not in the game anymore. Rachel has announced that she is quitting the Bachelor and Bachelorette franchise because she simply “can’t do it anymore.”

The reality star has previously criticized the shows’ lack of diversity, too. Here’s what you need to know.

As many fans know, Rachel made history in 2017 when she was chosen as the first black Bachelorette following her appearance on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor. She recently said that she is preparing to cut ties with the highly-rated ABC network franchise.

“I can’t take it anymore,” Lindsay, 35, said on her Higher Learning podcast.

She added: “I’m contractually bound in some ways. But when it’s up, I am, too. I can’t do it anymore.”

Back in June of last year, Rachel criticized the franchise for not having a black lead on the show. This was before it was announced that Matt James would be the next Bachelor, but Rachel was still unhappy with the timing.

During an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, Rachel said that she didn’t like the timing of the decision made by the show’s executive producers.

“It does seem like a reaction to what’s happening in our country. Did a man have to die in such a public way, on a national stage, for you to say, ‘Now is the time for us to have a black Bachelor?'” Rachel questioned. “That’s what I hate. It’s taking away from this moment.”

She continued: “What I wanted was some acknowledgment and some recognition that they’ve been wrong and part of the problem and they’re going to vow to make the necessary changes to bring diversity internally and to more contestants of color on the show.”
