Michelle Young will appear as the lead for the 18th season of The Bachelorette which has put an end to the months of speculation over who would take on the mantle.

So how did Michelle take the news? Rather well, as could be expected given that she would be in line to receive as much as $250,000 dollars for her role. Aside from the obvious financial benefits, Michelle will have the chance to follow in the footsteps of some of The Bachelorette’s greatest contestants: Step forward, Clare Crawley.
Michelle will have a lot to live up to which is why she was a little apprehensive following the announcement. She said: “I was a little nervous, but once I found out that it was two different seasons, I was here for it. I’m excited that I get to have somebody to bond over with this and share notes as we go.” Michelle is no stranger to the show given that she was on the same season as Matt James.
She did make it to the latter stages. Although she did not win over Matt, her performance will, no doubt, give her the confidence to go on a step further and lead from the front. She is quite right in being nervous, though. The show has sadly gotten a reputation for throwing in a spanner into the works, when it comes to people’s careers. Take for example, Rachael Kirkconnell.
She was accused of posting racist college photos, which in turn led to Chris Harrison sidestepping his hosting duties, while another of the shows previous stars Rachael Lindsay left Instagram due to abuse suffered in response to her views on the saga. That is why Michelle is learning as much as she can.
She added: “I really do think that this process works. When you can set down all these outside distractions and really dive in, I think you can learn a lot about somebody. I’m just excited. I’m ready to get started. It will be fascinating to see how Michelle will perform. If she can avoid any of the scandals ,unlike Rachael, then she should be just be fine.
