Mike Planeta opened up on why he is still a virgin as he attempts to navigate his way through The Bachelorette.

Mike, for his part, made the initial disclosure during an encounter with Katie Thurston in the form of a letter. While that may have raised a few eyebrows, it did show Katie that he was being very serious on the show and not simply there for the fame.
During an interview on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Mike stated how he is committed to living by his principles. He said: “For me, I’m convicted because I told Katie this…[God] was like, ‘You do not get to experience a lot of these things because you’re going to get in trouble.'”
But rather than having any regrets, Mike confirmed how his celibacy played a positive impact in his encounters with women during his life. He stressed how it allowed him to come across as serious and committed. This fell in line with Mike’s view of growing old with someone and not seeing a relationship as all fun and games.
He added: “Knowing that about myself, it was almost like a layer of protection…You have to show her [a woman] that there’s so much more that you see in her, right? You want to elevate her.” Mike is hoping that by being very patient, he can win over the trust of Katie.
He is walking a fine line, especially if the other contestants decide to be more brazen in their approach. Katie is known for getting exactly what she wants, but whether she will be willing to wait for Mike is another matter.
But with all good things, they take time. He continued: “One of the biggest desires in my heart is, obviously, to have sex… It’s like,’ Ok, well, then you need to put in work before you’re granted that gift.’ Right? So that’s how I view it.”
Time will tell whether Mike will win Katie over. He has certainly set out his stall and will not be backing down anytime soon. And yet, on balance, he has just as good a chance as anyone.
