Katie Thurston has undoubtedly not hidden her love for sex, but this time, she let her fans know about a mistake she made in the bedroom.

The current lead of The Bachelorette has been making waves for the forthright manner in which she has approached the show. And much, in the same way, she let her fans know exactly what goes down in her love life. This time, though, it was not her smartest move.
Katie admitted that she used another substance instead of the lubricant that she was hoping for. In a post to her fans on Twitter, Katie shared a picture of a pink cherry sex toy cleaner. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Woke up this morning and realized I used toy cleaner instead of lube last night.”
Naturally, fans were not sure whether Katie was making a tongue in cheek comment. But given by how the conversation played out, it looked as though Katie was not joking. That is when fans decided to come out and comment in droves. One fan wrote: “It does say non-irritating after all,” to which Katie replied: “The first thing I checked once I realised.”
Sex has always been a touchy subject for Katie, given the experiences she has had in the past. And she was very open about them in front of the cameras on the show. Katie confirmed that she had been a victim of sexual assault. Although some time had passed since the actual incident had occurred, the trauma of it all had stayed with her till this day.
And she made no secret about it. During an episode of the show, she remarked: “I didn’t want to have sex… I didn’t like talking about sex, and it’s taken me a long time to get to where I am now — loving myself and accepting things I can no longer control.”
With Katie now feeling more comfortable with herself during intimate situations, it is safe to say that she has put her troubles behind her. And now she can fully focus on her love life without being hindered by the memories of the past.
