Katie Thurston has hit back at her haters, who have criticised her latest Instagram post.

The star of The Bachelorette has already created a reputation for herself on the show, as being someone who is not afraid to say what she thinks. While that has won her over many fans, when it comes to her social media, it has been something different. Katie had to respond to a series of critics that came out in response to a photo she posted of herself in lingerie.
In the picture here, we can see Katie wearing some black lingerie as she is lying on her bed. The post was captioned simply with a love heart emoji. Naturally, there were some positive reactions to this. However, it was overshadowed by the swathes of scorn that followed.
A certain subset of fans felt that the picture was too sexualised and should not have been shared on an open platform for others to see and comment on. One user wrote: “Girl …. As a friend, fan, brother … I advice [sic] Katie! ‘Please take this down!” Rather than feeling outraged about it, Katie replied: “S–t. I hope I don’t get blackmailed by my torso!”
And yet, this was only the start of things to come. The comments began to become more hostile as another fan stated that this picture should only be kept for her lover. The fan said: “Save this for your husband, not the whole world.” That latest comment led to Katie responding in a brunt manner.
She has been open in the past about the insecurities she has had with her body following her sexual assault. That is why she was not afraid to show herself off due to the trauma of the past. She responded: “Are you talking about my torso? Should I also avoid swimming pools and beaches? I’m not ashamed of my body.”
With so many comments still coming her way, Katie promised to deal with the haters by simply removing them from her social media. Her following comments confirmed as much: “Anyone who wants to message me about my part, or my fashion or lack thereof, I’m just gonna block you.”
