Kaitlyn Bristowe’s relationship with Chris Harrison deteriorated significantly after she was selected to host ‘The Bachelorette.’
The Bachelorette: Kaitlyn Bristowe Recalls Chris Harrison Blanking Her After He Was Dropped For Defending Rachael Kirkconnell’s Alleged Racist Posts-‘We Were Best Friends, Now He Hates Me’
After nineteen years as host of the Bachelor franchise, Harrison had to bid farewell in 2021 because of his defence of Rachael Kirkconnell’s alleged racist pictures from a gathering with a plantation theme.
As a result of his departure, Bristowe and Tayshia Adams were asked to guide Katie Thurston and Michelle Young during their time on the show. Kaitlyn stated that Harrison suddenly ended all contact with her after the announcement that she and Tayshia would be the ones hosting.
She added that, when she originally agreed to the project, she thought it was to serve as a guide to Katie Thurston instead of replacing Harrison. Bristowe asserted that she sent Harrison numerous messages in order to clarify that she was unaware of her duties and had no intention of supplanting him.
Nevertheless, she received no response. In her comments, Kaitlyn said: “I just wanted him to know that I thought he was irreplaceable, and I didn’t want to step on toes. I was like, ‘OK, well now I’m panicking. Why didn’t you write me back? We were best friends and now he hates me.”
Things did not get any easier. Once they did meet in person, Kaitlyn revealed that she had told Chris that she had missed him. While that may have been the case, his response did not sit well with Kaitlyn, as it suggested that she was in part to blame for the absence of contact.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “I walked up to him and was like, ‘I miss you,'” as he apparently replied: “Well, I’ve always been here.” Chris may have had his own reasons for doing this, but the show has moved on since then.
