John Hersey has defended his ex-girlfriend Katie Thurston following their split in response to criticism she has received.

Katie, for her part, has not exactly had the best track record when it comes to dating men. During her time as the lead on ‘The Bachelorette,’ she ended up walking away with Blake Moynes. The pair had gotten engaged before breaking things off around 3 months later.
And during the course of that process, rumours were going around that Katie may have cheated on Blake with none other than John himself. While the pair denied doing anything on the sort, the very fact of the matter is that even he could not win Katie over.
With that being said, one social media user came out to suggest that Katie was not able to hold down any relationships. One such person said: “[She can’t] get a guy,” to which John replied: “I urge you to speak more kindly.
“Especially about someone you don’t know. I have never been so supported or unconditionally loved by a partner. Assuming and implying that Katie is doing anything wrong does not sit right with me.”
Despite John defending her, Katie’s love life does demonstrate that she has troubles committing. She has ultimately broken up with two people within the space of one year, and both of them appeared on ‘The Bachelorette.’
So if Katie is not able to find someone by way of reality TV, then perhaps she needs to change the manner in which she goes about pursuing men. And the fans on social media were equally brutal. They were of the view that Katie needed to work on herself and offer something that others could get behind.
One person wrote: “I’m always so relieved for her Exes who were lucky enough to get out. Worst bachelorette ever.” Time will tell if they manage to settle down with someone else later down the line.
