Sydney Lotuaco has dropped some more bombshells on The Bachelor by stating how contestants receive coaching on their dating.

‘The Bachelor’ Spoilers: Sydney Lotuaco Reveals How The Producers Influence Intimate Scenes

The show has received a lot of criticism of late after claims that it produces too much controversy and not enough authenticity. And Sydney’s revelations play into the latter point. In an interview on the Here for the Right Reasons podcast, she revealed how some of the intimate moments were choreographed. She said: “You talk with your producer constantly.

“And I had a close relationship with mine. He would, like, coach me like, ‘OK, go in there and grab his hand.’ And be like, ‘I know, this is awkward.’ I’m just not a very loud person, so that was a little difficult for me.” This was not exactly a criticism from Sydney, but rather an admission of what actually happens on the show. It would go on to explain, though, why so many couples fail to hit it off once they leave the show.

While the buzz of the cameras and crew may make things seem more ‘romantic, it is an entirely different matter in reality. Sydney has, however, seen some positives to this. She added: “They kind of guide you on that way. it’s super helpful. It’s a lot of just, like, being in your head, like, taking the chance when you can and then sometimes it’s super awkward because it doesn’t work out.

“You’re like, ‘OK, I’m gonna go over here.” And it seems the producers have a massive impact on who may be successful. Sydney outlined how each contestant has their own working relationship with the team, and the directions they receive are dependent on that. That is why the first few weeks of the show are critical, and it would also explain why many contestants have walked out of the show.

She continued: “Everyone has a different [relationship] with who their producer is. But ultimately, if you read the room and the situation that you’re in, you can kind of understand where things are going to go for you.” Sydney had no regrets from her time on the show and simply took it for what it was— a chance that was too good to turn down.
