Dylan Barbour has revealed why he decided to publicly back Jed Wyatt and in doing so, hit back at the producers of The Bachelor.

‘The Bachelor’ Spoilers: Dylan Barbour Reveals Why He Defended Jed Wyatt

When speaking to Us Weekly, Dylan said the following comments: “This past weekend, I got into the discussion of being in the public eye and its effects on mental health. I’ve seen a lot of people thrust into this level of notoriety, and with it comes immense scrutiny. And those same friends have had their mental health suffer tremendously from it.”

However, Dylan did backtrack his statement somewhat and paid homage to the show which gave him, like many others, a once in a lifetime opportunity. He further added: “With that said, I believe the way the message was delivered was wrong. I’m appreciative of the franchise and the platform given to me, and that was not reflected. Moving forward, I’ll speak only from personal experience and continue to be an ally and support system to those who need it.”

And yet, Dylan was more candid when he spoke to his fans. He started demanding that the show be taken off air. He tweeted: “Cancel ABC, and The Bachelor Kinda wanna air out their dirty laundry mom got me riled up. Ask away.” He then went further by accusing the show of bullying:

“You gotta understand the game. They get paid off you doing s—t that warrants screen time. “It’s easy to make a bad person look worse; it’s hard to make a good person look bad. They had that whole spiel on hating bullying, then purposely edit things to warrant bullying. S—t is wild.”

However, the impact on mental health was severe was Dylan’s final words pointed out: “My last thought: they need you until they don’t. Each person is a pawn in a larger scheme, and they do not have contestants [sic] best interests in mind. Mental health is not a concern. Multiple people develop issues post-show, and they do nothing to help. If anything, they fuel hate.”

It is doubtful that Jed or Dylan will return to the show anytime soon. If you enjoyed reading this article, then make sure you check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
