Chris Harrison did not leave the franchise quietly, as the former host was requesting a huge payout.

According to reports, Chris was ready to enter into a legal battle to get his dues after having become angry at the show’s treatment of him over the years. By the looks of it, Chris has been compensated well for his departure, even if the exact figure remains unknown. An insider told Page Six: “Instead of handing them a rose, he was absolutely ready to hand them a lawsuit detailing all the behind-the-scenes details.”
Chris had become very disillusioned by what he perceived to be a case of unfair treatment. He had been such a loyal servant to the show, but after making some comments that were deemed to be unsavoury in response to the Rachael Kirkconnell scandal, the producers threw him under the bus. And Chris was ready to hand out some similar treatment.
The source added: “He knows a lot about inappropriate behaviour on set: fights between contestants, misbehaviour including use of illegal substances while overseas and complaints from producers that were allegedly brushed under the carpet by ABC execs.”
This may explain why there were conflicting reports over whether Chris would return. But after having announced his departure, the show must have agreed to his demands. Despite him leaving, Chris wanted to make sure that he got everything he could have. The source continued: “[He] was ready to tell the truth about how things really work over there – and he has plenty of evidence to back him up.
“Chris was making $5 million a season and wanted $25 million to go.” This is not going to be the last that we have heard from Chris. Given how he handled his exit, there is clearly a lot on his mind that he wants to get off his chest. With a potential legal battle on his hands, if he were to spill the beans, Chris will have to approach this topic very carefully.
His days on the Bachelor franchise may be over, but he will not want to damage his other potential ventures in the future.
