Lauren Burnham has opened up on what it was like to watch her performance on The Bachelor, which ultimately saw her hook up with her husband, Arie Luyendyk Jr.

‘The Bachelor’: Lauren Burnham Rewatched Her Time On The Show- It Felt ‘Like It Was In A Different Lifetime’

The pair famously turned heads during the 22nd season of the show. Things came to a head when Arie proposed to Becca Kufrin. However, things changed immediately when Arie broke off the proposal in order to pursue Lauren. And the emotional toll of it came back to her when she rewatched the franchise. In an interview with Us Weekly, she was taken aback by how much her life had changed since then.

She said: “It honestly feels like it was in a different lifetime for me. It’s so far in the past and not integrated with my normal life now.” On reflection, Lauren does have a point. The couple would go on to get married in 2019, and by all accounts, things could not be going any better. This has been typified by the birth of the daughter Alessi midway last year.

Not only that, Lauren is expecting to have twins should everything pan out as planned. And yet, who could have foreseen all of this during their time on the show. That is why Lauren felt a huge burden had been lifted once the show had been concluded. She added: “We started our lives outside of the show pretty quickly.

“We started planning our wedding, I think right after we got engaged on the show, and then we got pregnant with Alessi right away. So yeah, I mean, we began our life post-show very quickly.” This has also been noticeable amongst their fans. The Bachelor franchise has been criticised in the past, for being scripted by giving producers too much control, over how on-screen chemistry plays out.

That is why so many stars, after the conclusion of the show, have either portrayed different personalities or hit out at the show for making them come across in a negative light. She continued: “People have commented…[and] they’re like, ‘Oh, I thought you were this way. And now I’m seeing your personality so much more.
