‘The Bachelor in Paradise’ Spoilers: Jade Roper’s Postnatal Depression Has Improved

In an interview with Us Weekly, Jade stated how there had been such a dramatic improvement in her health. She said: “I’ve been in a better place, which is kind of crazy considering the times. I set up my body and my mentality to be in a better space for postpartum to hopefully, maybe, prevent postpartum depression.”

The problems for Jade started after she experienced a difficult birth with her first kid. Following the birth of her son, Brooks, Jade had PTSD that she never quite recovered from. While her subsequent birth has been much easier, she was still clouded by the first experience. She added: “I think it was mostly the trauma from the birth.

“I think when I got pregnant with Reed, it was this fresh start for me on how I can be more prepared for something like that again.” So when her second child, Reed, was born, Jade felt that she had a new lease of life. It was all aided by the fact that there were no hospitals involved, and that clearly took a lot of courage.

She continued: “We had a planned home birth this time, and it was just really beautiful and peaceful. I don’t know if that helped. Obviously, I [still] have the hard days. He’s still not sleeping. He’s up every two to three hours. We have hard days, but it’s been such a different energy this time.”

And this improvement has rubbed off on her husband, Tanner Tolbert. By the sounds of it, the two have continued to be more productive and understood when things needed to change. It has been a blessing in disguise and an experience she can now put behind her. With that, she revealed: “Tanner didn’t know how to ask me if I was OK [before].

“And I didn’t know how to express I was OK. And there was a lot of miscommunication. Since we’re outnumbered [now, and] I really needed more help, he does great with Brooks and [our 3-year-old daughter], Emmy.” It is good to see Jade doing so well and long may that continue.
