Gus Kenworthy has been a source of strength for Colton Underwood after the latter had shockingly revealed that he was gay.

The Bachelor: Gus Kenworthy Supported Colton Underwood’s Decision In Coming Out As Gay

This was a major surprise, given that he had competed on The Bachelor and concluded the show too. Through the course of his journey, he had many romantic encounters with members of the opposite sex, including Tayshia Adams and Cassie Randolph. That is why the decision to come out was extremely hard, but with the help of Gus, it was made that bit easier.

An insider said: “It’s great for him to have another professional athlete [Gus] who’s openly gay. They have a lot of shared interest[s] as well. [It] feels [like] a huge weight has been lifted off of his shoulders [and Colt is] looking forward to being his authentic self.” Colt has already begun to live by that premise. He deleted his previous Instagram pictures and started afresh.

In his first post, we can see a selection of pictures of Colt throughout the years. The images were captioned by the following comments: “I have a lot to learn, but I have come a long way. To the people in my corner, I love you. without you, I wouldn’t be here.”  The reaction from the public was very mixed. His critics lashed out as to why he did not reveal it earlier and took a pay cheque from The Bachelor, knowing he may have been misleading people.

While there is no evidence to suggest that Colt knew he was gay at the time of the show, it is something that Colt will have to address. Nevertheless, fans did leave some positive comments. One fan wrote: “Happy for you, brother.” Any questions that fans may have had about Colt will, no doubt, be addressed very soon. Netflix has reportedly agreed to commission a series of Colt’s journey.

Although there has been no official release date yet, the anticipation for the series is certainly brewing. We can also expect to see Gus making an appearance on the show, and how he had directed Colt to muster up the courage to reveal his sexuality.
