Telenovela news reveals there are two shows to look out for. One will be a second season of an original story on Telemundo. The other, an adaptation of a Turkish novela on Univision. The funny part? They’re premiering within one day of each other. Let’s take a look at what’s ahead.

    Telenovela news: Imperio de mentiras

First, there’s Univision. They’ll premier Imperio de mentiras on September 21st at 9 PM EST. This novela is based on the Turkish series Kara Para Aşk and features Angelique Boyer (Elisa Cantú) and Andrés Palacios (Leonardo Velasco). According to People en Español, the show was filmed in Mexico City and sounds like quite the ride.

The synopsis promises a love story between a simple Policeman and a woman from a wealthy family. But there’s a lot more to it than that. It seems each will face losses that leave them in need of answers. They’ll join together to find them, but it will lead to discovering huge corruption. We can’t wait to see how this one goes.

    Telenovela news: Falsa Identidad—the background

So, Telenovela news reveals Enemigo íntimo is near the end. Why? Because the second season of Falsa Identidad will premiere in its timeslot on September 22nd, and the promos are looking interesting.

If you haven’t heard of this show yet, it stars Camila Sodi (Rubí Perez Ochoa, Rubí) as Isabel. She’s an abused woman who finally had enough when her husband caused her to miscarry a child. To escape him, she and her kids assumed new identities, with her going by the name of Camila Guevara. She got paired with Diego Hidalgo (Luis Ernesto Franco), who also is on the run. For him, it’s about the shady characters he associates with. While they were a bit antagonistic at first, their separate, yet similar, plights brought them together and forced them to do whatever they had to do to survive.

    Telenovela news: Falsa Identidad—season 2

This season, we’re seeing some interesting promotional choices. Two of the promos show clips from the series that show how they’ve rebuilt their lives again after the drama surrounding the end of the previous season. One promo focused on Isabel, while another focus on Diego. In each, their clips are mixed with statues of each. They slowly crumble, showing us their world is about to come crashing down once more.

So, what causes this? Other promotional material shows it’s likely mostly Circe Gaona’s (Samadhi Zendejas) fault. We loved her in season one. She is an ambitious woman who is determined to be tops of the drug world. She’s also obsessed with Diego and angry after everything that happened last time. So, she’s apparently hunting for him. A series of promotional videos shows her in online videos filmed in a mysterious location with obviously iffy internet. In them, she is asking people for information that will lead her to him and offering a big reward. It looks like it’s working, as a couple display her showing off photos and other clues she received. This is going to be interesting, because this girl is not one to be messed with. Expect big things coming from her.

You can catch the Gran Estreno on September 22nd at 10 PM EST.
