Telemundo news reveals several developments happened. In light of recent events, Telemundo did a presentation for what’s ahead via video, rather than at a big Upfront event. This news gave us a couple of things to look forward to in the future, while also providing a bit of baffling news about a returning series. Let’s take a look at what we learned.

Telemundo news: Carmen Villalobos returns
First of all, you might know this actress from the Paraíso franchise. Most recently, she appeared in El Final del Paraíso as Catalina Santana. Telemundo news indicates she’ll be taking on a role in a reboot. In Café con aroma de mujer, Villalobos was said to play the role made famous by Margarita Rosa de Francisco. However, a People en español article claims she’ll be in an antagonist role for the first time. The story revolves around a couple who have to deal with numerous obstacles to being together, including being separated from each other by circumstance and the lead getting caught up in a prostitution scam while trying to reunite with her man. In true novela fashion—especially older ones—there’s also a class element.
When the original came out in 1994, it was hugely successful and is considered one of the most successful novelas ever. Will it have the same impact here? We’ll have to wait and see. As of now, there’s no news on when filming can begin, or how many changes they’ll make to the story. Also starring in the novela is William Levy, who we remember from an awesome ‘90s novela called Sortilegio.
Telemundo news: More retellings
Another novela that will come to Telemundo in the future is a new version of Dónde está Elisa. Now called Buscando a Frida, this one is based in real events. The original took inspiration from both the Madeline McCann and Jorge Matute Johns disappearances, this version will focus on a 16-year-old who disappears after her father’s birthday party.

Telemundo news: The return
Finally, let’s talk about a returning series that has a baffling situation. We’d mentioned previously that Enemigo íntimo 2 was coming in May. When news leaked the release would be delayed, we assumed this was related to production shutdowns all over. However, it appears not to be the case. Telemundo news reveals the second season was already in the can. Why they chose to delay that, but keep 100 Días para enamorarnos on schedule when it hadn’t finished filming, we don’t know.
Enemigo íntimo is the story of siblings separated by circumstance and now on opposite sides of the law. It stars Raúl Méndez as Alejandro Ferrer and Fernanda Castillo as Roxana Rodiles. Expect a bit of a time jump and a possible change in circumstances when this series returns. They announced a premiere date of June 22nd earlier today.
