According to a Telegram channel that purportedly speaks for his bodyguards, Vladimir Putin had a fall over the stairs at his home amid suffering from cancer.
Telegram Channel Claims Vladimir Putin Fell Down The Stairs And Involuntarily Defecated
A Russian channel, General SVR, has claimed that Putin suffered a fall on Wednesday, 30th November 2022, evening while descending the stairs at his home in Moscow. The impact caused Putin to ‘involuntarily defecate’ due to ‘cancer of the gastrointestinal tract’ after he fell down.
Since the beginning of the conflict, the General SVR has posted updates about Putin’s health, but has not provided any evidence to corroborate its statements or proven that it has connections with his security.
The latest post, however, claimed the following: “The incident took place in front of the president’s bodyguards, who reacted quickly and rushed to Putin’s aid. Three security officers helped the president to get to the nearest sofa and called the doctors who are on duty at the residence.”
Despite the rumours, Putin was filmed and photographed touring a laboratory in Moscow the next day, and there appeared to be no signs of injury. During public appearances, though, his fidgeting hands and feet have appeared unsteady, including during his meetings with other world leaders.
While meeting Belarus dictator Alexander Lukashenko early in the war, his hand was seen shaking as a sign of Parkinson’s Disease. Other pictures have captured his hand tightly gripping the edge of a table as if trying to steady it and prevent tremors.
The response on social media was one of ridicule. A significant proportion of people did not believe this claim. Meanwhile, others began to troll Putin by suggesting that he and Joe Biden had things in common. One person wrote: “No wonder Biden wants to talk to him. They can share their stories of falling down.”
