Jenelle Evans is no longer on speaking terms with her mother, Barbara Evans, as the two continue to co-parent over Janelle’s son Jace.
‘Teen Mom 2’: Jenelle Evans No Longer Speaks To Her Mother
The duo currently have joint custody of Jace, but that has not stopped things from breaking down. Jenelle told her fans on TikTok: “Until we go to court and change the paperwork. But right now, Jace is living full-time with me, and this is because of his behaviour, and my mom can’t handle him.” But Janelle decided to switch things up by letting Jace live with his grandmother.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Jenelle revealed how she made the arrangements in order to protect Jace from the media intrusion. She said: “I did that for Jace’s protection because he is old enough now to where, if it’s in the news, I don’t need him reading that or getting upset.” So why did the two fall out? Well, it seems there were broken promises made by Barbara, which led to everything turning sour.
And by the sounds of it, there are clearly some egos involved that are standing in the way of getting what is best for Jace. Janelle added: “Because of Jace’s bad behaviour, he was supposed to live with me. Then she took that all back and acted like none of that ever happened. It’s really concerning to me. His behaviour is always good here. They have so much land to play with and play on, and [there are] so many kids.”
Not only that, there is a suggestion that Jace does not see eye to eye with his grandma. Given that Jace is approaching his teenage years, this is hardly going to get any easier. Janelle, for her part, has stressed that she has no issue in letting Jace see his grandmother.
She continued: “I know in the past, I’ve said that [no relationship with his grandma], but that was when I was young and mad. I see how important it is for Jace to have that relationship with my mom, no matter how much I dislike her.”
