Oh no. Recently, Tana Mongeau made a TikTok saying that someone had come forward and made her an offer to do Tanacon part 2. Now, if anyone will remember, Tanacon was a huge failure all across social media.
It was supposed to be a rival to vid-con out of sheer spite on Tana’s part because she was ticked off because in spite of being invited to attend the event itself she was not given featured creator status and considering how many views she had at the time on just her storytimes and just how popular she was among vid-con’s demographic, Tana felt slighted, so with the help (or should we say harm) of Michael Weiss, she went about planning Tanacon.
Only… it blew up in her face.
Tanacon was a massive failure simply because they did not factor in the amount of people who would actually show up for this event and got a venue that was unable to hold all of them. Not to mention the guests had to stand outside in a long line in the hot blazing sun, some of them to the detriment of their health.
Tanacon part duex???
There was no bottled water passed out to the guests or refreshments, nothing. Oh, and while most guests were free there was supposed to be a VIP section that actually did purchase tickets, but there was no separate line for them, so regular guest or VIP, both were left high and dry to bake in the hot sun.
Now let’s look at this for a second, she did say that the offer was an offer to redo the con properly this time and not screw it up, and she did say that she didn’t know how to feel about that in the TikTok.
Of course in the very next tiktok she seemed pretty excited because Shane Dawson had commented saying that maybe she needed to offer admission freebies to the Tanacon “veterans” as it were, which is actually a pretty noble idea if you think about it. She seemed to be really leaning toward the idea of actually going through with these plans.
But… let us not forget track record. Tana, at the end of the day, is still Tana and she always goes into things 100% and then when her interest wanes she drops it and moves onto the next thing just as rapidly. Also with this offer there seems to be money on the table for Tana, and we all know that Tana is not really one to turn down money, so will she end up doing Tanacon 2.0? It has a lot of potential, but we’re not getting our hopes up. Stay tuned!!!
