Tom Brady has shut down speculation that he will be retiring from the NFL.
Tom Brady Denies Speculation That He Is Retiring
The NFL star did shock the world when he made the decision to come out of retirement, but it has come with some consequences. His marriage has been under huge strain following claims that his wife Gisele Bündchen was not happy with Brady for continuing his career at the expense of spending more time with the family.
That has subsequently led to reports that the pair have been speaking to divorce lawyers, with the marriage potentially on the line. And rumours of a retirement all came to a head when former NFL star Chris Simms hinted Brady could retire due to his personal issues.
In his comments, Chris said: “This is the one year I feel maybe it might be Brady.” Despite that being the case, Brady made it absolutely clear that he was not walking away. This may help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since they have already lost 3 games this season, but it does not help solve his marital issues.
And yet, Brady was not going to be backing down. In response to the speculation, he stated: “I love the sport, I love the teammates, and I want to go do a good job for this team like I always have. So, no retirement in my future.”
This is precisely the reason why Brady is facing problems in his marriage. It was only in September of this year that Gisele was very frank about how she had concerns over the welfare of her husband.
Given that Brady is 45-years-old, coupled with the fact that he has nothing left to prove in the support as he is a legend in his own right, Gisele made it clear that she wanted her husband to walk away.
In some prior comments at the time, she remarked: “This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.” It is fair to say that Tom does have a lot of thinking to do.
