Two time winner and Survivor icon, Sandra Diaz-Twine is heading back to the game that has made her a millionaire…twice.
This will be the sixth appearance on Survivor for Queen Sandra, her fifth competing. However, this time she didn’t meet long time U.S Survivor host, Jeff Probst in Fiji.
Sandra is reportedly keeping a low profile in Charters Towers. No, you aren’t meant to know where that is, unless you are from Queensland, Australia.
‘Survivor’ Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine Heading Back To The Game
Daily Mail Australia revealed that the U.S. Survivor champ has been in Queensland for the past several weeks, quarantining in preparation for the next season of the Australian edition of Survivor.
This is not the first time a U.S. Survivor castaway has “come adrift” in Australia. Bona fide villain, Russel Hantz previously appeared on the first Australian Champions vs. Contenders season (season 5) in 2018. The epic season went for 50 long days, however Hantz was the second player to be eliminated.
Sandra’s Survivor resume includes winning her first two appearances- Pearl Islands and Heroes vs. Villains. She later competed on Game Changers and Winners At War where she placed 15th (on both). She was also one of the idols/mentors on Island of the Idols.
The news breaking of Sandra joining the Australian Survivor cast was met with mixed reactions. Many fans of the show felt that Sandra’s last appearance on Winners at War was lackluster, with Sandra sitting out of many physical challenges and, when having the chance to go to Redemption Island to earn her way back into the game, she essentially quit and went home instead.
The theme for the newest Australian Survivor, which will be filmed domestically like the previous season due to Australia’s strict Covid rules, is rumored to be Blood vs. Water. So far no one knows if Sandra has brought a loved one to Australia to play the game with her or not.
