Harry and Meghan took a seven-car convoy 200 ft to a mental health event in New York for World Mental Health Day, sparking criticism from royal fans and onlookers.
For two people who are supposedly championing climate change, hypocrites Harry and Meghan guzzle gas. Of course, provide everyone with a grand show during their visit to New York City to host the Archewell Foundation Parents Conference: “Mental Wellness in a Digital Age.”
Harry and Meghan’s Ride at the Expense of the Environment
Harry and Meghan left the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards to make their appearance for charity. And what an appearance it was. They turned on 33rd Street and arrived at another garage 200 ft away from where they came.
The Duke and Dutchess of Sussex were flanked by New York City Police cars as they headed to their destination. Their entourage included gas-guzzling SUVs.
The carbon footprint on this little journey alone is staggering. Many people took to social media to comment on the couple’s not-so-eco-friendly move.
The two of them have reputations as being environmentalists, and they just looked silly taking a seven-car convoy to go around a single block.
Harry has often said that climate change is one of the “most pressing issues” of the modern planet. A couple of years ago, the couple called for action regarding climate change.
Harry even told Oprah Winfrey during Harry and Meghan’s infamous 2021 interview with her that he wanted to help in any way possible to contribute to a solution.
Archewell Foundation’s Summit
After their trip, the pair hosted Archewell. TV and radio host Carson Daly moderated the summit. Harry and Meghan revealed that they have been trying to create a “community of shared experiences” between the parents who have suffered a loss due to their children’s involvement with social media.
The Mothers and Fathers of children whose lives have been affected all shared their stories and bonded over their tragic situations.
Harry and Meghan used celebrity status to convince social media companies to decrease the harmful content available to children when engaging on various social media platforms.
They participated in a panel discussion with US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and were candid about their mental health struggles. The summit’s goal is to make social media more “positive” for young people.
The event marked Harry and Meghan’s first appearance in New York since the “near catastrophic car chase in May. The “chase” sparked arbitrary comparisons to the car chase in Paris that took the life of Princess Diana in 1997.
The story they spun about the dangerous car chase wasn’t necessarily true. The mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, said it was hard to believe the chase lasted as long as Harry and Meghan said it did.
The supposed “relentless pursuit” of Harry and Meghan thatT la ted for two hours was said to have lasted a meager 10 or 15 minutes. According to sources close to them, and various reports have disputed their claims that it was a “high-speed” car chase.
Harry and Meghan made it a point to ensure that their visit to Archewell was as safe as possible. This safety helped them but not the environment.
