Supermodel and actress Carmen Electra is requesting a name change, choosing to go by her birth name, Tara Leigh Patrick, which may already be familiar to many.
The model and actress recently filed legal papers, formally requesting to change her name from Tara Leigh Patrick to Carmen Electra. Her intention seems to be to use her original name as her legal identity on official documents.
There are no other especially notable details in the application, other than this request for a name change. It’s important to note, though, that she started this process just before the year ended, submitting on December 29, 2023, expressing her need for a fresh start as 2024 draws near.

Although her request to alter her name has not yet been confirmed, these processes usually go quickly and without a hitch. Carmen Electra might soon be formally acknowledged as such, in line with how the public has known her since the early 1990s, particularly due to her notable involvement in “Baywatch” and other projects.
Carmen has been married several times, but she has never taken on her spouses’ last names. Instead, she always maintained her own last name.
Given that her birth name is likely connected to her parents, Patricia and Harry Patrick, it is unclear how they feel about this alteration. We’re sure that they’ll be happy to have her daughter representing their family name once again.
For the rest of the world, it will be weird after decades of knowing her as Carmen Electra to now see the name Tara. It’s quite a change, but one that she feels she is prepared for. Perhaps the biggest question though is, why the change now after so many years? That’s something we may not know for a while.
