Before their nuptials in 2018, Prince Harry had to inquire of Meghan Markle regarding the people she had dated before him.

Prince Harry Was Forced To Question Meghan’s Dating History-‘God, They Were Already Into Her Past’

Following the revelation of their romance, Harry admitted that the media attention was especially intense regarding Meghan’s marriage to Trevor Engelson and other prior relationships. There were even claims that the Duchess had a passionate affair with a hockey player whose photograph was posted on her deleted Instagram account.

In his memoir, Spare, Harry wrote: “God, they were already into her past and looking at her first marriage. Never mind that my father, a divorcé, was currently married to a divorcée, or my aunt, Princess Anne, was a remarried divorcée – the list went on.

“Divorce in 2016 was deemed by the British press to be a scarlet letter.” Those comments are telling for the following reasons. First of all, Meghan tied the knot with Trevor, an American actor and producer, on a secluded beach in Jamaica during September 2011.

Sadly, two years after their union, Meghan and Trevor decided to end their marriage via a no-fault, uncontested divorce due to “irreconcilable differences”. Therefore, it appears that both sides were keen on parting ways. Secondly, Harry has admitted that Prince William and Kate Middleton had stereotyped his wife as a divorced, bi-racial American actress.

And by the looks of it, things had gotten a little overwhelming. Harry added: “It was almost like a rite of passage. Some of the members of the family was like but my wife had to go through so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently?”

Fast forward to today, the couple could not be any happier. They have managed to forge a life of independence away from the Royal Family since their departure in 2020. And in the process of doing so, they have managed to raise two children. Thereafter, they have not looked back.

So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
