Prince Harry has shockingly suggested that he was required to endorse his brother, Prince William’s lie over being his best man at his wedding in 2011.
Prince Harry Claims He Was Not William’s Best Man As It Was A Lie
The Duke of Sussex disclosed in his stunning memoir, Spare, that there was a schism between him and his brother, which is why “Willy didn’t want me giving a best man’s speech”.
In a remarkably personal disclosure, Harry stated that he was made to act out the role of best man to spare the humiliation of William’s two closest friends. The Duke was pronounced his brother’s best man at the wedding ceremony and was driven to Westminster Abbey in a Bentley with his father King Charles III.
However, according to Harry’s most recent revelations about the Royal Family, the best man role was only for show, and his brother’s companions, James Meade and Thomas Van Straubenzee, ended up giving the traditional toast at the reception.
In other assertions, the Prince stated that William was conversing with the people who had collected near Buckingham Palace while he was still intoxicated from the rum he had drunk the night before his marriage to Kate Middleton.
In his comments, Harry wrote: “You smell of alcohol’ and then is said to have offered him mints as he lowered the windows of the car, describing the smell of ‘the aftermath of last night’s rum’ on his ‘tipsy’ brother’s breath.”
This revelation is alongside his deeply personal criticism of William, whom he has allegedly blamed for pushing him onto a dog bowl during a heated discussion at Nottingham Cottage in 2019.
He claimed that a clash between him and the Prince of Wales occurred after he termed Meghan Markle as ‘difficult’, ‘rude’ and ‘abrasive’. His book further mentions that the argument resulted in William grasping him by the collar and throwing him on the ground, smashing a dog bowl.
Harry added that his back suffered scrapes and bruises from the incident. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
