Fans of the show South Park have caught a subtle allusion to the purported feud between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton in a recent episode.
Fans Notice South Park Mocking Meghan And Kate’s Feud With A Competing Vogue Photo Shoot
The comedy animated series featured an episode titled “The Worldwide Privacy Tour” which included an allusion to the real-life couple, Prince Harry and Meghan. This was done through cartoon characters which resembled the two, with the British prince having red hair and the American ex-actor being his wife.
This episode has been the topic of many conversations because it was seen to be making fun of the couple. Harry and Meghan have rejected any claims that they were going to take legal action, though.
An aspect that hasn’t been given much attention until this point is a reference to allegations of a longstanding feud between Meghan and Kate. The episode features a section where the Prince’s wife is depicted in magazine covers similar to those which have actually featured Meghan.Â
One of the covers shows the cartoon princess on Vogue donning a green broad-brimmed hat, white shirt, and a brown hunting coat. Interestingly, this cover is not based on any of Meghan’s covers, instead, it is similar to the front page of Vogue with Kate wearing the exact same attire, as shown in the pictures here.Â
It is not surprising, then, that the response on social media was one of ridicule. Large numbers of people began to make a running joke out of the whole situation. And in the process of doing so, the comments towards the Duchess of Sussex were brutal indeed.
One person wrote: “The people of “South Park” really do seem to see what Hazbeen and the wife are really all about. It’s delightful.” It is fair to say that this was not the couple’s finest moment, given the reaction that has emerged.
