British Royal Family News says that there sure is a lot to unload in Oprah’s sit-down interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
During the tell-all, which will be broadcast in over 68 countries by the end of the week, Meghan said that the royal family had concerns over the skin color of their baby. Here’s what you need to know.
Both Meghan and Harry confirmed that members of the royal family had discussed with the Duke of Sussex how dark their son’s color might be.
British Royal Family News: Harry’s Conversation Over Archie’s Skin Color – Was It With Prince Charles Or Prince William?
Meghan said a few of the royal family members had conversations with Harry about the potential color of Archie’s skin.
Harry later relayed this to his wife. He added that this discussion of “what will the kids look like” came “right at the beginning” of their relationship.
Meghan told Oprah, “There were also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he was born.”
Later in the interview, Oprah asked Harry to elaborate more on the conversation, but he refused to. “That conversation I am never going to share, but at the time it was awkward, I was a bit shocked,” he said.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped social media from speculating about what might have happened, what was said, and who said all of this to Harry.
Some comments from both royal fans and critics have included, “Lordy, someone in the family (William) actually said to Harry they were worried about his child being dark skinned. Yep, that would have done it,” along with, “What?!?! WHAT?!??!?$ they said WHAT?!?!?! Ohhhhh myyyy goddddd I need to take a walk. How dark is skin would be?!? It had to have been Charles.”
Another critic wrote, “OMG They did not want a black prince. we knew it but she’s saying it. They are being very careful with how they are calling out Prince William and Prince Charles, so I bet it was one of them.”
The first child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archie was born in May 2019. The couple also revealed that they are currently expecting a baby girl.
