Kody Brown’s marriage to Meri Brown could be about to come to an end with no resolution in sight. The couple have been going through marital issues for some time.
‘Sister Wives’ Spoilers: Kody Brown and Meri Brown Are ‘Over’
In a previous episode of Sister Wives, Kody was heard saying that the marriage was as good as dead. He said: “My relationship with Meri is — at best — just distant and amicable. The relationship between her and I, it’s gone. It’s dead. It’s over. Neither of us sees real value in the relationship because if Meri and really wanted to be together, we would.”
So what led Kody to reach this conclusion? Well, he felt that Meri was too overbearing, which started to impact their relationship. He further revealed: “For all my marriage with Meri, I felt like she unloads her emotions into a burden that I’m supposed to carry. I’m not carrying this burden because there’s no reason that I should.
“I haven’t put effort into that relationship specifically because I have three other relationships that are rewarding and wholesome with children that need me [and] need to see me.” So how does Meri feel about it all? She has stressed that she is carefully treading her toes, having already outlined what Kody needs to do in order to improve their relationship.
She said: “I’m really careful about pushing Kody because I don’t want him to feel like I’m being demanding or pushy or anything like that. I feel like I’ve made it known to him enough where I want the relationship to go, as far as just moving forward. It’s best to leave the ball in his court.”
Will a divorce be on the cards? This may not be as easy as it looks. Kody is a strong believer in polygamy. That is why a divorce would be problematic. Kody said: “In plural marriage, I don’t feel like I’ve got the right to say, ‘This is over, this is ending. I have dominion over my own body and where I’m at, but I’m not in a place where, like, I can say, ‘Hey, I’m divorcing you.’ I can’t do that.”
