One of the most shocking things that Kody Brown has done was missing his daughter’s back surgery. This broke Ysabel Brown’s heart and this was the icing on the cake for Christine Brown. This was one of the turning points in their marriage and for Christine to realize that her husband did not make time for their children.

When Kody was asked why he didn’t go to his daughter’s surgery, he mentioned his concerns with COVID since it was deep into the pandemic when they left for New Jersey and he also said that he had to be at one of his friends’ weddings.

Christine told the cameras, “Ysabel’s heartbroken, oh my gosh. She goes, ‘How can he justify officiating Brian’s wedding when he wouldn’t even come to my surgery?’ And now I’m mad, what the hell? You think you get to go officiate your friend’s wedding and not take care of your own family?”
Kody took his turn to tell the cameras why he wasn’t coming. He told the cameras, “Ysabel’s surgery was at a time and a situation where it would’ve required that I’m six or eight weeks away from home. No man can be away from work and from home and from the family that long. She is trying to excuse herself by making me some kind of villain.”
Christine admitted that she can no longer respect a man who acts like this and denies his daughter any support when it comes to life-changing surgery. Ysabel was very upset that her father couldn’t take time out of his life to be there for her. Christine has admitted that when the nurses that helped Ysabel asked where her father was, that really pushed things into motion when it came to leaving him.
This event shows his true character and it made many fans of the show realize just how invested he is in himself and only the things that he wants to do. It is clear by watching this that his children with Christine really don’t seem to matter to him and that is incredibly heartbreaking.
No matter what, we are happy that Christine got out of this relationship and we are glad to see that the cameras were able to show just what he was thinking at that moment in time.
