    A High-Stakes Split Reaches Resolution

After months of tension and public accusations, Sia and her estranged husband Daniel Bernad have officially reached a custody and child support agreement—bringing a dramatic chapter of their split closer to an end.

New court filings reveal that the singer will pay $42,500 per month in child support for their young son, a figure that immediately grabbed attention given the intensity of their legal battle.

    Inside the Costly Agreement

Beyond the monthly payments, Sia has agreed to take on a significant share of their child’s financial needs.

She will cover private school tuition, extracurricular activities, and uninsured medical expenses, while also maintaining health insurance. The agreement also requires her to hold a $5 million life insurance policy naming their son as beneficiary—underscoring the long-term financial planning involved.

    Structured Custody Plan in Place

The former couple will share joint legal custody, with a clearly defined parenting schedule now in place.

Special occasions have been divided between them, ensuring both parents remain actively involved in their child’s life. The detailed arrangement also outlines holidays, vacations, and school breaks—aiming to avoid future conflict.

From Explosive Allegations to Courtroom Clarity

The road to this agreement was anything but smooth.

At the height of the dispute, Bernad made serious claims in court, alleging Sia was “an unfit and unreliable parent struggling with substance abuse.”

Sia fired back, strongly denying the accusations and addressing her recovery head-on.

“My recovery has been a cornerstone of my life,” she stated in legal filings, pushing back against the narrative surrounding her ability to parent.

She also emphasized her commitment to sobriety, noting she had been actively engaged in recovery efforts.

A judge ultimately sided against Bernad’s push for sole custody, determining there wasn’t sufficient urgency to grant his request.

    Turning the Page

Now, with both custody and financial terms settled, the focus appears to be shifting toward stability.

While their divorce proceedings continue, this agreement signals a move away from legal clashes and toward a more structured co-parenting future.

After a highly public and emotional battle, both sides now have a clear framework in place—one that prioritizes their child while putting an end to one of the more contentious celebrity custody disputes in recent months.
