Should Prince Andrew Face A Royal Enquiry Into Accusations Of Inappropriate Behaviour?
That is according to a former royal protection commander Paul Page. This comes on the back end of accusations that Andrew’s behaviour has been far from savoury to say the least.
One report alleged that Andrew had gotten into an argument over toiletries which resulted in Queen Elizabeth II getting involved in order to resolve the dispute.
Not only that, but another report stated that he had gotten into an argument with none other than the late Meat Loaf after claims that the musician had been flirting with Sarah Ferguson.
All of this paints Andrew in a bad light, especially since he is facing sexual assault allegations. In an official statement, Paul said: “Buckingham Palace launched a bullying investigation against Meghan last year after she was accused of wrongdoing.
“If it’s a fair organisation that looks after its staff, an investigation should be started to confirm whether or not Andrew is guilty of being a bully and of intimidating staff.”
Despite calls for an enquiry, this is unlikely to happen for the following reasons. First of all, Andrew has already been punished by virtue of the fact that his military titles have been removed.
Therefore, until an investigation proves that he wis guilty of the accusations that have been made, to take another drastic step would be very brave indeed.
Secondly, given that he is the Queen’s son, some would argue that there would be a conflict of interest given that it would not be possible to have an impartial enquiry. And yet, Paul feels that this is necessary.
He added: “The Palace have a problem because there are instances and evidence of Prince Andrew being overbearing and verbally abusive.”
Time will tell ultimately how this plays out, but in light of the increasing media stories that are coming out by the day, it is very hard to see how Andrew can protect his reputation.
