Selena Gomez has slammed a social media user who objected to the singer’s joke about the recommended daily alcohol limit.

During the course of her interactions with her fans, Selena decided to post the following clip. In the video here, we can see the singer reacting to a video put up by Dr Dawn Bantel.
In the footage, the medical professional went on to outline exactly what is meant by excessive drinking. And by the looks of it, her comments got Selena feeling baffled.
In the video, Dawn is heard saying the following: “The CDC defines heavy drinking as 15 or more drinks a week for men. And eight or more drinks per week for women.”
In response, Selena became a little confused. Clearly, she was shocked at how much alcohol was needed before being over the limit.
Selena ended up raising her eyebrows and putting her fist near her mouth at the horror of the statement. Her video was captioned with the following comments: “It’s a joke.”
As a consequence, some people started to get annoyed by the fact that the singer had found something so serious as being comical.
One person in reply wrote: “So one of your best friends gives you her kidney, and you continue to drink excessively. Damn Selena.”
The star hit back immediately to let the user know that her comments were just in jest. But given that we live in an increasingly politically correct society, coupled with the fact that cancel culture has gotten out of control, Selena had to justify her comments.
She responded: “It was a joke ass.” Shortly after, other fans came out in droves to show their support for Selena. This is particularly true given that she has suffered from kidney issues in the past.
In 2017, she admitted to having a kidney transplant as she was suffering from Lupus. The former is a condition that is characterised by the inflammation of the skin.
This led to the star taking an extended break from the music scene in order to ensure that her health was intact, but luckily, she made it out in one piece. So there you have it.
