Last year was a tough one for Princess Beatrice following the fallout from her father’s relationship with Jeffery Epstein. And already, this year seems to have gotten off to a rocky start as both ITV and the BBC have decided to ditch the plans to show the live stream from her wedding.

The revelation has come as a little bit of a shock to royal fans, as her sister’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank was given special morning airtime. However, that won’t be the case for Beatrice, with both the major British television companies revealing that they have no plans to cover the event.

Royal News: Prince Andrew To Blame?

The announcement that the Princess would be getting married was made last year, with her and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi announcing that they would be wed in 2020. However, the fallout surrounding Prince Andrew may have had an effect on the rejection by the television companies. It was originally believed that there would be coverage of the wedding.

But when the BBC announced that they wouldn’t be televising the wedding, it only seemed a matter of time before ITV would follow suit. The BBC have revealed that while it may not be on television, royal fans will still be able to watch the action and keep up to date with the event on their website. Meanwhile, ITV have made no such promises at this early stage.

    Royal News: No Bitter Feelings

It has since been reported that the York Family weren’t particularly interested in having the wedding televised in the first place. Beatrice claimed that she enjoyed the privacy, and it would add to their special day. That was the opposite from Eugenie’s marriage, as Prince Andrew reportedly begged with the BBC to showcase the event live on television.

The BBC eventually said no, but the event was then picked up by ITV. Royal fans would be disappointed that the wedding won’t be broadcasted live, as it will be the last royal wedding for a significant amount of time. The network plans may be changed the closer that the wedding gets, with no official date or venue yet put on the ceremony.
