Ireland Baldwin has opened up on her experience with abortion in the aftermath of Roe v Wade overturned.

The decision has now allowed individual states to decide whether or not abortion should be outlawed. As a result, a subset of the American public have been holding protests over what they believe to be an attack on freedom of choice.

And after having gone through an abortion herself, Ireland detailed how it was the best thing for her due to the fact that she had become pregnant during the course of a relationship, which she was not very happy in.

In a post to her fans on TikTok, she said: “I chose to get an abortion because I know exactly what it felt like to be born between two people [Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger] who hated each other.”

Nevertheless, there were other options that Ireland could have pursued. First of all, there was the possibility that she could have given the baby up for adoption. But once a baby has been delivered, it would not necessarily have been so easy for her to simply hand it over.

Secondly, there is an argument that her life may have been better off had she gone ahead with the pregnancy. And yet, Ireland doubled down on her beliefs that it was the best decision for her at the time, as a result of the uncertain economic circumstances. After all, her former partner was not too interested in having a baby.

Her following comments confirmed as much: “Could I have had that baby and put that baby up for adoption? Maybe. Maybe not. But choosing to raise a baby without my own financial security, without a loving and supportive partner, that wasn’t gonna work for me.”

There is no way that Ireland can take back that decision, but who knows whether she will end up regretting this later down the line. Time will tell. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
