The duo were set to go ahead for a trial after Rob claimed that Chyna had backed out of a settlement that had been drawn up following her initial decision to sue him for posting explicit images of her.
Not only that, but Rob had tried to push the previous settlement through only for this to be denied by the judge. But with an agreement having been reached at the last minute, the jurors were no longer needed.
This decision is bound to be welcomed by both sides for the following reasons. First of all, Chyna already knows what it is like to lose a high-profile case against a Kardashian.
She had recently lost her $100 million defamation case against the Kardashian-Jenner family. Therefore, it made much more sense for her to settle rather than risk losing once again.
Secondly, as the pair do share a 5-year old daughter (Dream) together, they avoided any unnecessary legal action and can now focus on co-parenting their child. Lastly, in any event, it provides Blac the opportunity to rejuvenate her career.
She had just undertaken a celebrity boxing match against influencer Alysia Magen. While she did manage to secure a draw in the bout, the very fact of the matter is that Chyna was not impressed by the decision. So much so that she went on to refer to the decision as “bulls***.” As such, there is always the prospect of a rematch.
The fans on social media had a lot to say about the settlement. They were of the view that this had been done in an attempt to generate publicity. After all, putting this out in the public domain was never going to help their daughter. One person wrote: “All these cartrashions do is release porn film to get more famous.”
