Kathy Wakile has defended her son Joseph Wakile after he referred to Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga as ‘farm animals’ on social media.

‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ (RHONJ) Spoilers: Kathy Wakile Defends Her Son After He Called Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga ‘Farm Animals’

In an interview on the Eat Live Love Indulge podcast , she dismissed the severity of his comments in light of the fact that it was all in jest. She said: ” [My kids] Victoria and Joseph have seen a lot, heard a lot and have watched people act without heart and compassion. While his response to a ridiculous question was sarcastic, I know he didn’t mean any harm.”

The Gorga’s have not seen eye to eye with the Wakile’s, despite being cousins. But things took a turn for the worst when Melissa and Joe were absent from Victoria Wakile’s wedding. Given that she and Joseph are siblings, he took it as something personal. That is why on an Instagram post, he referred to them by the following: “Lmao, we cut those farm animals out of our life years ago. That’s why they weren’t in attendance.”

And it seems Melissa sees things in the same way, especially with Kathy. There is no desire to rekindle that relationship, and if Melissa’s previous comments are anything to go by, then their friendship is as good as dead. In a previous interview with Andy Cohen, Melissa said: “Honestly, I feel like because we entered the show together and I stayed and [Kathy] was no longer on the show, she just felt like everyone should have helped her to stay on, I don’t know.

“It was, like, a lot of hard feelings after that. It caused a little tension.” Kathy, for her part, has been more pragmatic. She feels that there is an opportunity to reconcile and left the door open for any reconciliation. She added: “We were a family. It’s sad, but you learn to keep going and surround yourself with the people that are there for the highs and for the lows, people that support you and want the highest good for you.”

With Kathy putting out an olive branch, we will have to see if anyone will take it.
