Former ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ star Denise Richards was slammed after she reportedly decided to adopt a long winter coat instead of wearing a mask during a recent flight.

According to reports, Denise argued that she had been wearing a coat which was thicker than what a mask would have been. Therefore, she was actually having more protection by doing this. Thus, she ensured she was safe, as well as the other passengers.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Denise said: “Anyone that is upset that I [am] not wearing a mask I’m hiding under a hoody amd [sic] a huge winter coat. Please. Thicker than any mask!!!!!!”
If these comments are taken to be true, then they are significant for the following reasons. First of all, the use of masks has sadly become a sign of virtue signalling.
As such, it is possible to suggest that people wear them simply in order to show that they are complying and doing something good rather than actually believing in whether they work.
Secondly, in any event, there is always the argument that the decision to wear a mask should be up to the individual. Not only that, but it is not clear whether or not Denise had an actual medical exemption or some other reason for her not to wear one.
Thirdly, Denise should not have to justify her reasoning by virtue of the fact that if it is a medical issue, then this is something that is private and should remain personal.
And yet, given the rise of the Omicron variant, a certain subset of people on social media were not pleased by her behaviour. This is especially true, since they argued that other people have to abide by the rules.
One person on Twitter wrote: “@DENISE_RICHARDS you better be on hiatus or fired for subjecting others to breaking protocol. Your germ infested coat is not a d–n mask.”
While another person stated: “Denise Richards green juice yoga pilates pink twitter princess is such a sad clout chaser.”
