Prince Harry reportedly wants to be a lot closer to his father Prince Charles amid the pair’s public attempts at reconciliation.
Report Claims That Prince Harry ‘Wants To Be Closer To His Family’
The attempt to reconcile between the pair first emerged when Charles had praised his son publicly in a US publication with regards to Harry’s work on environmentalism.
This was significant since it was the first time in a decade that Charles had spoken to a US publication, which could only have been done because Harry is based there.
In addition, further reports indicated that Charles had invited him and Meghan Markle to visit the UK. But given that there has been some uproar over whether Harry will be allowed to fund his own security, the chances of that actually happening have diminished.
That is why Harry has decided to try to bridge the gap, with claims that he and his father have been communicating via video calls. A source told The Sun: “There has been a definite thaw in relations between Harry and Charles.
“They are on much better terms and have been having friendly chats and video calls. It has been suggested to Harry he may live to regret any lingering family bitterness, and he has taken that on board.”
These comments do hold some weight, as unless things are patched up, then there is a high chance that the feud between them is going to spread to other members of the Royal family.
After all, it would mean that Charles no longer gets to see his grandkids, coupled with the fact that those very same grandkids would not be mixing among Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children.
That is why Harry knows he must put things right. The source added: “There is a feeling he is coming back more into the fold and wants to be closer to his family.”
The timing of this report is critical, as it coincides with Harry’s tell-all memoir which is set to be released this year, in addition to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which will celebrate her being 70 years in charge. It is now or never for Harry and Charles.
