Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga says that while hair, makeup, spray tans and nails can all be fake, her marital issues with her husband Joe Gorga are certainly not. The reality television star recently said that her marriage problems are as real as they can get.
Fans have seen a lot of in-fighting between her and her husband Joe, prompting many of them to either believe that they are headed towards a divorce or they must be faking things in order to keep the show’s storyline focused on them.
But Melissa says that’s not the case at all, as she began facing challenges with Joe after realizing that she needed more independence.

“I was only married for four years before I had been on TV. I don’t think anyone understands, almost my whole married life I am on reality TV,” she explained in an interview with ET Online.
Melissa also said that she’s not the kind of girl who would fabricate drama in order to have the show focus on her. In other words, what you see is what you get.
“I really am. Link in bio,” she joked. “I am his clickbait. ‘Screw Melissa, I hate…’ [Teresa’s] like, ‘Take his name out of your mouths.’ Really? Because I don’t care — ever — to bring him up, believe me that. So it just gets very one-sided.”
Melissa also opened up about all of the back-and-forth bashing between her and her husband and Teresa Giudice and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice. For Melissa, she and Joe have had enough.
“Joe gets very insulted, which I have to agree with him. I feel his pain,” Melissa shared. “Even when we’re backing [Teresa] up, and we’re taking [her] side — ‘You were the best and you deserve better’ — we’re still saying it wrong. It’s that situation where, you’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.”
