Queen Elizabeth II Was Heartbroken Following Death Of Her Corgi

The late Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly heartbroken following the death of one of her corgi dogs.

That is according to royal expert Hilary Fordwich. Queen Elizabeth was known for having a fondness for dogs after reportedly having had over 30 corgis during her lifetime. Her first one was allegedly received when she was just 7-years-old. But the loss of one particular corgi, by the name of Willow in 2018, particularly hit home.

After all, Willow just so happens to be the descendant of her family’s first dog which was given to her on her 18th birthday.

In her comments, Hilary said: “Back in 2018, she was hit exceptionally hard by the loss of her beloved Willow, who had become her most devoted companion due to being a direct descendant of Susan, her first corgi, who was an 18th birthday present when she was still Princess Elizabeth.”

The death was particularly difficult for Queen Elizabeth as the dog did have connections with her family, as previously described. But it was not the only animal that the late monarch had been fond of.

She had an equal love of ponies, as one named Emma happened to join the procession during the moving of Queen Elizabeth’s coffin. In the clip here, we can see that Emma is moving along the procession from Buckingham Palace/Westminster Abbey to Windsor Castle. And by the looks of it, the pony did well.

Terry Pedry, who happens to be the head horse groomer, had this to say: “It was an honour and privilege to have Emma with me to say goodbye to Her Majesty for the last time.

“The Queen adored Emma and rode her for more than twenty years so it was only right she should have been there. And she behaved impeccably.”

It is safe to say that Queen Elizabeth II was a massive animal lover. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
