Queen Elizabeth II will see her life change exponentially following the passing of her husband, Prince Philip.

Queen Elizabeth II Faced Some Competition In Getting Together With Prince Philip

The couple had been married for a mammoth 73 years, which saw them go through significant changes such as the Second World War and the current pandemic. And it seems that they were destined to be together from a young age. Ingrid Seward, who happens to be a Royal expert, spoke on the moment they had clapped eyes on each other. The problem, though, was that the Queen had a rival.

She said: “He was very much more sophisticated than her [the Queen], and I think he was rather flattered these two little princesses — because [her sister, Princess] Margaret, was there too — sort of had a crush on him.” Despite having met such a long time ago, it is important to remember that Philip was the talk of the town.

He was known for being an eloquent talker, and the fact that the Navy was such an honourable profession, his stock amongst the opposite sex was continuing to rise. She added: “I think a lot of women did [fall in love with him] because he was so handsome and dashing, and he was a Naval officer. He was also a prince. So he had a lot of things going for him and women wanting [him].”

The duo would eventually marry in 1947, and they never looked back since. They went on to have four children: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. Although various scandals had destroyed other members of the Royal family, the couple stood firm in the face of scrutiny. That is why his death has left the Queen reeling.

A source said: “Prince Philip had been in poor health recently, but the loss was still a surprise.” The only thing that the Queen must focus on now is fixing the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle saga. After all, it would be the right thing to do in light of what has just happened. We will have to wait and see how it will all play out.
