Prince William Was Worried About Harry’s Mental Health Amid His Romance With Meghan Markle-‘He Wouldn’t Be Strong Enough’
That is according to Royal author Tina Brown in her book entitled ‘The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor – the Truth and the Turmoil.’ One of the primary concerns that William had allegedly had was the fact that Meghan would not be able to adapt into the Royal family.
After all, she was making a huge leap into an unknown institution. It was not just changing countries, as well as finding a new career, the decision was also accompanied by the fact that Meghan would be facing unprecedented levels of media scrutiny.
Ultimately, these things did have an impact as demonstrated by the couple’s Oprah Winfrey interview in which they expressed dissatisfaction with the way they were treated in the Royal family. And looking back, this was there for everyone to see, at least according to William anyway.
In her book, Tina wrote: “Unspoken to Harry…was the older brother’s fear that Harry’s mental fragility was such that he wouldn’t be strong enough to handle all of that on her behalf, as well as his own issues.”
This begs the question: could William have done more to support his brother? Well, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but in reality Harry was his own man. Tina further alleges that Harry decided to act quickly once it became clear that William had reservations.
But rather than consult with his brother over what he should do next, Harry had apparently deemed it best to marry Meghan at the first available opportunity.
Tina’s following comments confirmed as much: “To his brother’s concerns, Harry’s riposte can be summarised as, I am told, ‘Well, actually the best way I can protect her is marry her as quickly as possible because as soon as I marry her she will then get police protection.'”
